On Wednesday, October 7th at the University of Wisconsin — Platteville, there will be a conference on implementing the recommendations of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing. You are invited to attend.
Director of Washington state police training, Sue Rahr will be our keynote speaker. Sue is a member of the President’s Task Force and former elected Sheriff of King County (Seattle), Washington.
The conference will address Task Force recommendations that apply to local units of government — especially the following topics:
- Unconditional respect.
- Deadly Force: Where we are now and where we hope to go.
- Neighborhood policing and the “WOW” factor.
- Leading and sustaining organizational change.
There will also be workshops and a final report.
We hope to model a conference that others can use at the local level.
FOLLOW this blog for further information on how to register. There will be no charge for the conference; however, seating is limited in order to bring together a representative group of police, elected officials and community leaders.
We urge you to download a copy of the report HERE in preparation for the conference.
