I say this because while I had some idea from network news what happened on that fateful date. A day of infamy that I now rank along with December 7, 1941 and September 11, 2001.
I was shocked beyond words after recently viewing an extensive video documentary released after six months of investigation by a team of journalists from the New York Times.
If you think maybe it was just a loud and angry protest that occurred on that day, view this video and think again. I have practiced policing for three decades and observed police activities since that time and I can tell you that I have never seen police so overwhelmed, battered, and injured (causing the death of one officer!) as I did in this video.
Fake news? Come on, this was mayhem and insurrection! Check out the coordination, personal radios, shields, baseball bats and cans of bear spray!
